The mind of a normal person,

Linger in 1 mode out of 18, any given time,

This is how the 18 modes are formed..,

There are 6 sensory organs, those are..

Eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin and the mind.

When the eye is considered, it sees pictures,

For those pictures eye would have 3 kinds of thoughts

I) Happy II) sad III) moderate (neither happy nor sad)

When these 3 modes are applied to all 6 sensory organs there are 18 modes.
