In the context of "the secret doctrine", the myth of Prometheus is not simply a Greek legend about the theft of fire, but a universal allegory with deep anthropological, spiritual and philosophical meanings that relate the evolution of humanity.

It is presented as a "voluntary sacrifice" of divine beings to provide the man with mind and conscience, a crucial event that marked a turning point in our development.

Prometheus as a symbol of the "gentlemen of wisdom

" The Prometheus figure represents a host or collective hierarchy of divine beings, not a single individual. These beings are known in the secret doctrine with several names, such as the "children of wisdom", the devas of the fire, the agnishvâttas, or the kumâras. They are spiritual intelligences, "fallen angels" in their true meaning, who rebelled against the law of passive evolution to accelerate human development.

a. The "rebels" as saviors: these divine beings ("Prometheus") refused to create "without mind" or irresponsible men, as did other hierarchies of "parents" or lower pitris. They preferred to embody themselves in human forms, which until then were only "shadows without understanding", to give them manas (the mind) and self -awareness. This act is seen as a great sacrifice for the good of humanity, since it meant abandoning its purely spiritual state and chaining the matter during a whole life cycle. Therefore, the "rebels" are, in reality, our spiritual saviors.

b. The origin of the "divine man": the "fire" that Prometheus steals to the gods is the divine spark of consciousness and intelligence. By providing humanity with this fire, the physical man, until then a simple animal, became a "potential God", capable of discerning good and evil and forging his own destiny. The "celestial man", the Logos, embodied in humanity through them. "Curse" and human suffering The gift of Prometheus, although it was an act of compassion, also brought with it a "curse": the suffering inherent in the conscious life and the responsibility of the free will.

1. The internal conflict of man: the incarnation of these "lords of wisdom" was premature according to the natural plan of evolution. Spirituality and intelligence developed before the physical body was perfected, creating an imbalance. This originated the internal struggle between divine and animal nature in man. The passions of the body (the "vulture") began to devour the heart of man, now conscious and responsible. Zeus, in this allegory, represents the primary parents (the Pitris) who created the "without mind" man, while Prometheus symbolizes spiritual creators.

2. The fall in generation: the "fall" was not a sin, but an inevitable step in evolution. The gift of Prometheus, the creative fire, led humanity to understand and use sexual procreation ("generation"), abusing this power and falling more and more into materiality. This marked the end of the "golden age" of the first races, which were more ethereal and spiritual.

3. The crucifixion in the Caucasus: the chain of Prometheus to Mount Caucaso is a symbol of the "crucified" divine host in the rock of human passions. Humanity itself is the Prometheus that suffers, and this torture will continue until it manages to balance its dual nature and redeem itself.

Relationship with other myths and symbols.

Prometheus's myth is one of the many versions of a universal tradition.

Indo Origin: The secret doctrine places its origin in India Aria. The Name Prometheus is related to the Sanskrit term Pramantha, the wooden instrument used to light the sacred friction fire. This fire (Agni) is a symbol of both physical and spiritual fire, and their "parents" are the rishis and the gods.

Universal parallels: figures such as Indos Asuras, Cristian Fallen Angels, Lucifer and Satan (in their true philosophical meaning, non -dogmatic) are identical to Prometheus. Everyone represents divine beings who "rebelled" to give man the light of consciousness and free will, therefore being punished and banished to the "earth", which is "hell" or the kingdom of matter.

In summary, the secret doctrine interprets the myth of Prometheus as a complex allegory on the endowment of the mind (Manas) to primitive humanity by a hierarchy of advanced spiritual beings. This act, a deliberate sacrifice, transformed the animal man into a self -conscious and thinking being, but also submitted it to karmic suffering and responsibility, thus initiating the true drama of human evolution on Earth.
